Aroostook County in August

Northern Maine is beautiful in July and August. As soon as the black flies (horrid creatures) go away, the rolling hills of Aroostook County glow green and gold. I love how huge the sky looks. I visited the Northern Maine Fair and watched the harness racing and ate Maine red hot dogs. I don't know why the hot dogs in Maine are bright red but they are and I love them (and my usually organically grown eating self shudders just thinking about the ingredients).
