Falling into Winter
Autumn is my favorite season. Every year I stand in awe of trees as they go technicolor crazy falling asleep for winter. That evolution brought about such a spectacular announcement of appending dormancy amazes me each time it happens.
Preying mantis (female, of course) having a snack. Preying mantises eat very slowly.
Wood Nymph
Tufted Titmouse
Oddly, I had Pine Warblers visiting my feeders as late as mid-December. I haven't seen them since the second snow storm of the season hit.
