We've gotten something close to 100 inches of snow here in Eastern Massachusetts. Since public transportation is pretty much paralyzed and driving has become a giant game of chicken (because no one can see over the snow drifts), I've stayed home and photographed some frequent visitors to my back yard.
Enjoy.

Cooper's Hawk. Also known as the Angel of Death. She's a damned smart predator. She stalks other birds like a cat on the ground and she flies birds into my sliding glass door to kill them. I'm still trying to get over her taking one of my downy woodpeckers. I don't begrudge her all the European House Sparrows and Starlings she wants but I wish she'd leave the woodpeckers alone. |
