Mid-September this Traveler was back on Cape Cod. This time first in Brewster and then in Orleans. I took a cruise out along the western edges of the islands forming Monomoy National Wildlife Refuge. I've seen Gray seals before but only up on land or lying on rocks or way off surfing the waves off shore. This day afforded me the opportunity to watch them swimming underwater like aerialists spinning and twisting and then surfacing to look them right in the eyes.

One of my most favorite animal is seals. I'm just sad that they are endangered and seeing them in zoos isn't great for me. They belong to the wild and can't be tamed as pet.
